Dreams Are..

Dreams are..

Dreams can say a lot about a person. Everything they are feeling or worrying about can be felt through their dreams. One might say that dreams are a lot like a diary. Having dreams can help you discover something new or push you into a bigger hole of confusion. Dreaming can reveal what your true desires are, or show you to your worst nightmares and greatest fears. Dreaming can tell us a lot about what type of person someone is.

Countless numbers of people have had dreams that they set their minds to and put time, heart, dedication and their lives into. Having a dream can motivate people to do great things with their lives. Everyone has a dream no matter how small or large it is, every one person has some desire to live out their happiest thoughts and fantasies. Seeing the world today people’s dreams have changed drastically from what they used to be. People always want the best of everything and seeing all of the celebrities now days everyone has this thought that they need to be like them. Our world has changed a lot over the years and so have our dreams. Kids dream about having the newest, coolest and most expensive things instead of having a dream to set for themselves. Other kids around the world living in poverty have very small dreams that mean the world to them; having food and water, health for their friends and family, peace among their country. Many of us lose sight in what dreams should be and become very materialistic. Having a dream is like setting a goal, dreaming allows us to push ourselves closer to what we most desire. Whether it’s dreaming for better grades, a better family, a better life for yourself, a new car, a new house.. Anything! Achieving your dream is like winning the lottery, trying so many times before and being shut down until all of your hard work finally pays off and you scratch off those winning numbers. Although dreams are a very rewarding thing to have they can also be very discouraging. Many people set out a dream that is far out of their reach, which ultimately results in failure.

Throughout the years dreams have transformed drastically and I don’t think that they are going to change any time soon. Our world along with our hopes and dreams are changing everyday and not always for the better. Take some time to remember what dreams are really all about and what you truly want from life and yourself.

My Summer

Everyone enjoys summer in different ways, some because they get school off and others because they go on amazing trips somewhere. My summer was extremely memorable because I had the time of my life! Going into this summer I thought it would be like most of the other summers between grades, go tubing, hang out with friends, stay home, watch TV, and be lazy/

For me this summer was completely different from all the other ones, I had the experience of a lifetime. I was added to the list of all the lucky kids that get the chance to go to Disney Land! Even though there was mostly little kids there I embraced everything like I was 5 years old again, I went with my Mum, Dad, and 21 year old Sister, I’ve never seen adults act so childish in my life. I’ll never forget getting my picture with Mickey and the immense amount of joy one ride can bring to so many people. I felt like it was Christmas for a week. Going to California was a great trip; I went to Beaches, Amusements Parks, Universal Studios, and everything in between. It was really strange because I thought California would be scorching hot, but surprisingly enough Penticton was hotter then California. All the different emotions I felt when I was on my trip were surreal, almost crying from happiness in Disney Land and absolutely terrified at Universal. I know I’m going to remember that summer trip for the rest of my life.
Everything else being pretty much secondary to California, I still had a good time. I had to say goodbye to one of my best friends when she moved back to Calgary which was really, really hard for me. At the same time I met new people, at my new job. I worked a lot this summer which was a big change because normally I never work in the summer because working up Apex my jobs are seasonal. I had some really interesting experiences at work this summer; it’s amazing how angry and rude some people can be. I had one guy yell at me because he didn’t want to sit near the bathrooms, so I proceeded to sit him farther away at a different table that was free, this table had just been cleaned so it was still a little damp and apparently that bothered him too because he started yelling at me again for the wet table. As I came around for a coffee trip and asked him if he wanted a warm up and he started yelling at me yet again because he wanted his soup before his coffee.
Another fun filled thing I did, I helped out with the Ironman like I do every year. I had a really awesome time helping out with the Ironman this year because my friend Will was in it this year. It’s amazing to see the athletes in there zone and seeing how hard they push themselves. Over all I had a great summer I went tubing and jet skiing a numerous amount of times and I had the amazing experience of going to Disneyland and meeting all the Characters and having a great summer with my family. It’s back to school now but I will always have the memories of this summer and how it was the summer of my life.
